GENERAL TRAVEL INFORMATION
Travelling with Judy Arpana Pilgrimage should be an enjoyable experience for all concerned. The following information and guidelines will help you ensure that your journey is as rewarding as possible.
Please note that any travel does involve some risk and therefore suitable precaution should be taken on behalf of every traveller to minimise any risk. Whilst every care is carried out by our guides, we cannot be held responsible for any unforeseen circumstances which may accompany the general rigours of travel. Your understanding, patience and awareness of this will enhance your appreciation of your travel experience.
AIR FARES
The tour price does not include return airfares. Judy Arpana Pilgrimage does not represent and is not affiliated with a particular airline or travel agency. Though we may be able to recommend airlines or agencies that provide suitable deals, due to the consistently changing nature of this industry we are unable to maintain updated information on pricing and availability.
TRAVEL INFORMATION
Apart from the information provided here, there are numerous travel information sources in print and on the web.
FLEXIBILITY
The nature of our pilgrimage tour and the unique locations we travel to necessitate a degree of flexibility in our programming. In fact, this is how we get the best out of the tour. Roads may be blocked, hotels overbooked, cars break down....it's exactly those type of scenarios that provide the opportunity to truly experience travel. Sometimes it's simply that a better option becomes available....or perhaps as a group we decide that plan B is preferable to plan A. Our guides take all of this into consideration and endeavour to cater appropriately for the situation at hand. Remember that the itineraries provided are used as a guiding strategy, and that the real tour happens when you get there. It's all part of adventure travel!
TRAVEL ADVICE
There are a number of well documented travel sites that offer concise local information and advice. In Australia, the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade offer up-to-date travel advice, although this will lean on the side of caution. We do encourage you to thoughtfully research tour destinations prior to your journey.
VISAS
You will require a visa to travel in India. Please consult with your travel agent about a visa and remember to allow at least two weeks to have your visa processed.
VACCINATIONS
We recommend that you seek medical advice regarding vaccinations at least six weeks prior to your departure, as some vaccinations need to be administered in two stages. Although vaccinations can be recorded on an International Health Certificate, this is not required for travel into India. Consult your physician or travel medical advisory service for details.
LEGAL STUFF TO KNOW ABOUT:
The following are necessary for all participants in the North India Pilgrimage tour. This is to ensure that you are appropriately covered in the case of an emergency and to indicate that you understand the implications of being involved in travel in India.
INSURANCE
It is a requirement for all our travellers to have a comprehensive travel insurance policy with full medical cover. There are a wide variety of policies available and your travel agent will be able to make recommendations. Some policies offer lower or higher medical expense options but the higher ones are chiefly for countries like the USA which have extremely high medical costs. Check the small print.
You may prefer a policy that pays doctors or hospitals direct rather than you having to pay on the spot and claim later. If you have to claim later make sure you keep all documentation. Some policies ask you to call back (reverse charges) to a centre in your home country where an immediate assessment of your problem is made.
You will be required to submit your insurance policy name and number BEFORE commencing the journey with North India Pilgrimage.
MEDICAL FORM
A Medical Form will also be included in your information pack, requiring you to inform us of any relevant medical information. In certain conditions, it may be necessary to get your Doctor's written consent.
CONSENT (INDEMNITY) FORM
There will be a Consent Form included in the information pack. It is important that you complete this and return it BEFORE your tour begins.
There are a number of health factors that need to be considered before any extensive travel, and mostly these are addressed by common sense and practical medical advice from your health care professional. The following gives an indication of your health and fitness requirements.
GENERAL
