To help people embark on an adventure both personal and spiritual through an exchange of cultures.
Judy Arpana and Ngakpa Karma Lhundup Rinpoche have been leading pilgrimages in North India since 1995. The uniqueness of this tour comes from their special connections with highly regarded Lamas and Yogis and the opportunity to receive once in a lifetime teachings. Pilgrims on the tour experience the wide-ranging cultural diversity and scenic wonder of the area.
These pilgrimages arose out of Judy’s openness and desire to share the extraordinary opportunities that appear when you are ready to step out of what’s familiar and step into the unknown.
Judy Arpana Pilgrimage is an independent organisation with a passion for building bridges between cultures and people. Our aim is always to encourage local people to sustain their unique lifestyle rather than distort it for tourism. When we journey to any location we see ourselves participating in a cultural exchange with the people rather than tourists travelling for personal gratification. There will inevitably be an impact on both sides from such an encounter; we strive to keep this positive for both travellers and residents.
We encourage people to embrace each other’s differences. Meeting people of other cultures in their home land, challenging ourselves to step out of our comfort zone, finding more of ourselves in every step of the way.
Judy’s Pilgrimages are a learning experience in that both peers and guides are always learning from each other and the people we meet along the way.
We trust that our sense of passion and purpose rubs off on what we do and the people who join us.
Judy’s experience with India is beyond counting. Suffice to say, she is a teacher, guide and storyteller who truly lives the path of the Wise Woman. She brings laughter and light with tales from her adventurous past.
Auspicious meetings with Lamas and practitioners are only possible to arrange in a short time if you have a well connected guide, which is exactly what you get with Judy leading a journey. You get access to sacred places in a way that would be simply impossible if you were travelling alone, or even with another guide.
You will be invited to visit some of the most unique and incredible people and places that are otherwise simply unavailable to the casual visitor.
Ngakpa Karma Lhundup Rinpoche
A genuine Lama, practitioner and teacher of Tibetan Buddhist tantra and sutra, Karma is the real deal. Travelling with Karma is not an opportunity to be taken lightly.
Through Karma, an experienced translator, you are given the chance to meet with amazing beings who grant access only to a select few. A genuinely humble person, Karma completed his three year, three month retreat under the late master Ngakpa Yeshe Dorje, also known as the Tibetan Weatherman, for his ability to control the weather.
You will long remember Karma’s stories, kindness, wit and wisdom.
